Auditor general Ken Hughes will present the findings from his latest audits next Thursday, but not all of them will be public.

One of the audits is on information technology security handling and response.

Council approved the AG looking into the IT protocol after last year’s cyber strike on the city’s website — the Dancing Banana Attack.

In a rather lengthy explanation that cites legislation and past cases, staff suggest the committee discuss the audit in closed session because it meets the legislative tests to go in-camera if the matter is related to security.

Never before has the city cited “security of the property” as a reason to have a closed session, according to a report published today for the audit committee.

Results from other audits will be in the open part of the committee meeting. They are:

Audit of 3-1-1- Contact Centre
Audit of Accounts Payable
Audit of Infrastructure Services – Administrative Management
Audit of Infrastructure Services – Technical Management
Audit of IT Risk Management
Audit of Species at Risk
Audit of Winter Operations – Capacity Planning and Performance Measurement
Audit of Mackenzie King Bridge Resurfacing
